Quick Start Guide

Thank you for trying TypeShort! TypeShort introduces a new way of typing. Instead of pressing the Spacebar after every word, TypeShort automatically inserts spaces as you type. It also provides automatic capitalization, optional shorthand, and other features designed to make typing easier and more natural.

The biggest adjustment is simply remembering not to press the Spacebar. Everything else can be learned gradually.

   Install TypeShort.

   Launch TypeShort. By default, it starts in Active mode.

   Open your favorite application (Word, Outlook, Gmail, etc.) and start typing.

Simply type the letters and punctuation. TypeShort will automatically insert the spaces for you.

Now let TypeShort do the capitalizing. There’s no need to reach for the Shift key. Try typing the following without using the Spacebar or the Shift key:

Watch as TypeShort inserts the spaces and capitalizes the names and other proper nouns while you’re still typing.

Shorthand is completely optional. TypeShort works great without it. For the sake of getting started, try:

As you become more comfortable, you’ll discover that many shorthand entries follow simple patterns, so you do not have to memorize hundreds of individual abbreviations. Learn a little, a lot, or not at all—it’s entirely up to you.

• F3 turns TypeShort on and off. You can also do this from the tray icon by right-clicking and selecting (or deselecting) Active.
• Use ^ to retroactively capitalize the previous word. Examples: marshall^ becomes Marshall & victor^ becomes Victor
• Choose which applications TypeShort is active in:Tray Icon then Right-Click then Settings then File then Select Apps

• To install the latest version, follow steps:Tray Icon then Right-Click then About then Check Updates

Occasionally you may notice a space or capitalization that isn’t what you expected. Simply correct it and continue typing.

If necessary, press F3 to temporarily deactivate TypeShort, make your correction, then press F3 again to reactivate it.
